What is CCYF?

C.C.Y.F. is Clark County’s leading and most established youth football program serving the community’s youth for the past 41 years. C.C.Y.F is a local nonprofit league open to all boys and girls who will be entering Kindergarten  thru 8th grade.

 

Kindergarten and 1st grade play Flag Football.

 2nd, 3rd, & 4th grades Advanced Flag (Flex).

4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade play Tackle.

4th graders may choose Advanced Flag or Tackle.

 

 

 

What is Flex Football?

Flex Football is a new hybrid of flag football that includes blocking and bump and run coverage to help younger players learn the fundamentals before playing tackle football. Flex football will be available in the fall  for 2nd, 3rd, & 4th grade players.

How are teams formed?

Teams are formed based on the grade your child will enter in the fall, and the school and district where they are enrolled. No hand chosen cherry picked teams.

How do we register?

Are there multi-player discounts?

Yes. Multi-player discounts are available for tackle for children living in the same home. NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE.

 

When do we get our gear and what gear will be issued?

Teams will be assigned a gear distribution day. That information will be on the web site, and in the parent letter. Your coach will inform you of the exact time on your assigned day.

For Tackle each player will be issued the following gear: helmet, shoulder pads, Pants, game jersey and mouth guard You must clean and return this gear to your coach at the end of the season.

Flex and Flag:

Do I need a new physical?

Flag a physical is not required.

Advanced Flag and Tackle will be required to have a physical signed and dated  by a licensed health care provider dated before November 30th 2022. The physical must not expire prior to the end of the playing season.

What about concussions?

Per Washington State Law (RCW 28A.600.190), commonly referred to as the Lystedt Law, each year every player and parent is required to read and sign the “Concussion Awareness Information Sheet”. You can download it here.

When are practices?

Tackle Practices may begin no sooner than the 2nd week in August. Tackle Practices are held Monday-Friday until the first game. Tackle Practice will not begin before 5:00 pm for will last no longer than 2 hours. After the first games teams may then practice 3 nights per week as assigned by the practice site. Tackle Practices are held at schools in your local area as assigned by the school districts.

Flag Practices are 2 nights a week for 1 1/2 hours.

Flex Practices are 3 nights a week for 1 1/2 hours. 

How many games?

Games are played on Saturdays, beginning the first weekend in September and ending the last weekend in October or the first weekend of November. The number of games each team plays depends on how many teams are in each division and if there are bye weeks. Flag and flex season will end the week before tackle.

Championships?

Each tackle division will have a championship. The format for championship games is dependent on how many teams are in each division. Normally, the championship games will be played on the last Saturday in October. Championships are only available in our tackle divisions.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, as long as long as it is requested before August 1st . ALL REFUNDS are minus a $25.00 processing fee. Prior to August 1st, refunds are 100% minus the $25.00 fee. After August 1st, there are NO REFUNDS. Refund requests will be honored as of the date they are received. Refund requests must be made to: ccyfootball@comcast.net
